MVT Systems — Managed IT, Microsoft 365 & Cybersecurity South Africa
Backup and disaster recovery services for Microsoft 365, servers and Azure workloads
Backup & Disaster Recovery

Backups your business can actually recover from.

Most ransomware victims discover their backup gaps during the incident. MVT designs and operates tested backup and disaster recovery for Microsoft 365, servers and cloud workloads — immutable, monitored and recovered against documented RTO and RPO targets.

Capabilities

From Microsoft 365 to physical servers — protected.

Microsoft 365 backup

Mail, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams backed up to independent storage — protecting against ransomware, retention gaps and accidental deletion.

Server & VM backup

Image-level backup for VMware, Hyper-V and physical servers with Veeam and Commvault, on-prem or to the cloud.

Immutable storage

WORM and object-lock targets so backups can’t be encrypted or deleted by an attacker who breaches production.

Restore testing

Scheduled, evidenced restore tests against agreed RTO and RPO targets — because untested backups are not backups.

Documented RTO & RPO

Recovery objectives defined per workload, signed off by the business and built into the design.

Ransomware readiness

Backup access hardened with MFA and least-privilege, separated from production identity and ready for real-world recovery.

Backup & DR FAQ

Backup and recovery questions, answered.

Why backup still matters in the cloud, how we test recovery, and the difference between backup and disaster recovery.

What backup services does MVT provide?+
MVT supports Microsoft 365 backup, server backup, cloud backup, backup monitoring and recovery planning using suitable business-grade backup platforms.
Why do we need backup if our systems are in the cloud?+
Cloud platforms protect infrastructure availability, but they do not replace a business backup strategy. Businesses still need protection against deletion, ransomware, misconfiguration, account compromise and retention gaps.
Do you test backups?+
Yes. Backup monitoring and recovery testing are important parts of a proper backup strategy. A backup is only useful if it can be restored when needed.
What is the difference between backup and disaster recovery?+
Backup protects data copies. Disaster recovery is the broader plan for restoring systems, users, access and business operations after an outage or cyber incident.
